Dating evidence — Apart from the Edwardian hats, the presence of William E Thacker on the back row wearing the same cap as in a photo dated 1905-6 (see his Gallery), gives this picture an estimated date of 1903-6.

The woman in the middle of the picture is certainly Louisa L Newton, William's mother, and it is possible that the man on the right is James Cooke, her uncle.
