25 Aug 1803   Although John Summerland consistently claimed to have been born in about 1801, it seems likely that he was born in 1803, in Wibtoft, Warwickshire. (Another John Summerland, who was born in 1797, appears in the 1841 and 1861 censuses in Hinckley and Leicester and was therefore not the father of Hannah Summerland, who was living in Wigston.)   Censuses; IGI
13 Sep 1803   He was christened in Claybrook, Leicestershire. (Claybrook, now Claybrooke, is a mile and a half from Wibtoft.)   IGI
