1841   The Walton census shows James and Ann (both 45) with James (9), Hannah (8), William (4) and John (1). His eldest and only other surviving daughter, Mary (20) was still single but working for a farmer at Bruntingthorpe 2.2 miles away.   Census
20 Aug 1842   James Garrett died at Walton in Kimcote aged 47 of 'dropsy of the chest'. His occupation was labourer. William Taylor of Walton was in attendance.   Death certificate
22 Aug 1842   He was buried aged 47 at Walton in Knaptoft.
