This tiny snapshot (1½" x 1½") from about 1958 shows three of the Allen sisters – Florence S J, Hannah E and Sylvia M with Sylvia's daughter.

Hannah Elizabeth (centre) was the eldest sister. She married William H Claridge in 1916. The couple lived in Northampton and had no children. However, her neice, Doreen Angrave, stayed with them several times in the 1930s and remembered 'Auntie Annie' being an excellent cook.
